Teaching professionals from in and around Atlanta have the chance to play alongside the ATP professionals competing in the Atlanta Tennis Championships, an Olympus US Open Series Event at the Atlanta Athletic Club July 17 – 25. 

The Atlanta Tennis Championships is running a Club Teaching Pro Challenge including Men’s Singles & Doubles events at the Open and Senior (45 & over) levels.  Play begins the week of Saturday June 5 with each player / team playing three, flex-scheduled qualifying matches within their division. Each division winner at the completion of the three weeks of qualifying rounds will advance to a single elimination, flex-scheduled tournament. Play will continue for up to three additional weeks until only two players / teams remain. The final two players / teams will then play the championship final “on-site” during the Atlanta Tennis Championships. Entry deadline is Monday May 31^st although entries will close once 64 players / teams have entered.

Important information                                                                                                             

• Events are Men’s Singles & Doubles – Open and Senior (45 & over) – senior players must be of age as of June 5.
• Teaching Pros must be current members of the GPTA; USPTA or PTR.
• $20 Entry Fee per event. 75% of Entry Fees will be paid as Prize money.
• Each individual player must submit an entry (and list their partners name for doubles) where requested
• Finals played on-site during the Atlanta Tennis Championships.
• All matches are best of three sets, with a match tie-breaker in lieu of 3^rd set.
• Flex Scheduling: Match times to be arranged between players / teams.
• If teams cannot agree on match time, the designated match time is the 2nd Sunday of the match period at 1pm.
• Entry deadline is May 31, or as soon as 64 entries in an event are received
• Sign up with your partner (doubles) & designate your home court.
• Play starts the week of Saturday June 5 with one scheduled match per week. (Saturday to the following Sunday)
• Entries limited to first 64 players / teams in each event.
• Entry is open only to players with a home court within 25 miles of Atlanta, GA.
• Each player / team is guaranteed at least 3 matches within their division.
• Division winners advance to a single elimination playoff played over 3 additional weeks.
• Final two players / teams in each event will play for the championship on-site at the ATC
• Championship winners receive (2) Reserved Tickets to their choice of the semi-finals or finals of the ATC
• When completing entry, each player must enter their NTRP rating in the section titled “Playing Information”
