Top American veteran Mardy Fish has been added in the main draw. Other notables include Xavier Malisse (a finalist in the 2001 Atlanta tournament), Teimuraz Gabashvili who advanced to the French Open round of 16, Janko Tipsarevic and Benjamin Becker who ended Andre Agassi’s career at the 2006 US Open.
 

Andy Roddick

Andy Roddick, America’s top men’s player, has accepted a wild card into the Atlanta Tennis Championships. Roddick won the last ATP World Tour tournament in Atlanta in 2001. Roddick won the 2003 US Open and the Olympus US Open Series in 2005 and 2006.

 

John Isner

John Isner became a household name across the world when he won the longest match in tennis history – a marathon contest of 163 games -- over Nicolas Mahut of France at Wimbledon. Isner is a former University of Georgia Bulldog and NCAA Division I champion.

 

Lleyton Hewitt

Former No. 1 player Lleyton Hewitt recently put the Atlanta Tennis Championships on his calendar. The two-time Grand Slam winner reached the pinnacle of tennis in November 2001 and reigned atop the ATP World Tour rankings for 75 weeks.

 

James Blake

James Blake, the long-time American tennis star, has been ranked as high as No. 4 in the world. Blake has won 10 ATP titles, including the 2006 Indianapolis tournament, which the Atlanta tournament is replacing.

 

Robby Ginepri

Robby Ginepri is the local guy in the mix as he hails and still lives in the Atlanta suburb of Kennesaw. Interestingly enough, he’s had his most success at the Indianapolis tournament that was replaced by Atlanta.

 

Mardy Fish

Mardy Fish

Silver Olympic medalist Mardy Fish has joined the star-studded cast of the Atlanta Tennis Championships. Fish is coming off his fourteenth appearance in an ATP tour final at the Queen’s Club Championships this past June.
